I am originally from Dunedin, and in my mid 20’s moved to the UK by myself, worked hard in IT which then made me lucky enough to travel throughout the UK, Europe, South America, South Africa and Australia. I definitely have the travel bug.
6 years later I came home to lovely NZ (I love our country), only to return to the UK 3 years later for another 2 year stint. Then finally I came home to Waiheke Island where my daughter Devon was born in 2002 on the island, and my son Deyton was born in 2004 on the mainland. We now live in Kohimarama which we love with both children going to Kohimarama School.
I have always loved weddings. My Aunt and Uncle (Carol and Phil Taylor) moved over from the UK to Blenheim at the same time I came home to NZ and Carol was so into weddings, she starting a wedding shop. She later sold that and then became a Marriage Celebrant which she does now very successfully in Marlborough. One day I was at her home, and a couple came to visit for their meeting. I stood discretely listening to the side and thought “wow I could do that – its all about a connection with the couple”. That was the beginning of my intention to then also become a Registered Marriage Celebrant in Auckland. I knew I could offer something different for couples to ensure their special day had a ceremony to be remembered
I feel honoured to be a NZ registered Marriage Celebrant and take couples through their Wedding day. I hold the Certificate in Celebrant Studies which has helped me create truly original ceremonies for each couple that book me. I have married many couples all over Auckland with weddings booked sometimes 2 years in advance which is great. Brides are starting to book their Celebrant at the same time as the venue which is perfect for knowing you have who you want to lead you through your ceremony.
